With roots from a small town in upstate NY, he grew up with
very little live music. Influenced by
the music that was around him, mainly records and tapes his brother or parents
owned, he ventured into the land of the Beatles, John Denver, Neil Young, and
Simon and Garfunkle. Particularly taken
by the Beatles early on he dissected their songs to see how they were layed out
and dreamed of creating something similar of his own. This was the flame that brought many years of crafting melodies and
lyric writing. He formed his own high
school band, Green Eggs and Hash in the early 90's and continued with them
through the first years of college.
Fast forward to 2002 where he had a group in Albany entitled
Group W which was short lived as the band split up when three members of the band
decided in 2003 to head to San Diego, CA for a new beginning in music and life
in general. Unfortunately, this was also
short lived and after a couple years Nate formed a new band with entirely new
personnel which was the beginning of The Donnis Trio.
The Donnis Trio, released a full length CD based on the best
songs Nate had written up to that point.
This was his first professional release and the album to date has had
wonderful success. Tracks from the album
have had frequent play on Pandora, Radio Paradise, and been featured in hit T.V
shows such as the British T.V show Skins, history detectives,
With roots in upstate NY, his music sounds like the pine trees, ponds,
and fields he grew up in combo with the life and breath of San Diego.
